another stuck stem, but its different

So I have searched this topic and it seems to be a common issue. Its an old Fuji Road Bike from the 70's. I soaked it in wd-40 (did nothing as I read) threaded the bolt in a few threads and wacked it. It went down, so I was relieved. Then I unscrewed it and realized it had just stripped the threads and not actually done anything.

So now I feel screwed. I am headed out to get a can of PB Blaster and see if the LBS has a replacement bolt for me to ruin as well. Any suggestions or just try it again with a new bolt if they have them? Anyone know the threads incase I need to find a replacement elsewhere?

is the whole stem stuck or just the wedge? either way it should be noted that most all forks get thicker at the bottom, i.e. the wedge can get stuck if you try and hammer it down. try taking the wheel off, flip it over, (take the brake out if needed to get the bolt out of the way) and put something in from the bottom and hammer that way.

Well LBS was no help, I have some PB Blaster in there now then i will try hitting it from both sides.

The wedge is still stuck which is the main issue

take the fork off, find something solid to stick in through the bottom that is longer than the fork legs, bang that sucker on the floor, make sure you look away.

I'd go with a similar stem. Can pick one up used for a couple bucks.
