what is a GT "A" Track bicycle?

So the search function requires words longer than GT A, lol.

I'm familiar with the GTB as well as the Pulse, but what exactly is the GT "A"? I heard about it at the track last week; the guy who explained it to me said it was a different "series" than the GTB?? 600 vs. 700?

I don't know exactly what that means, but i'd like to learn more about it.

any info would be awesome, thanks

weren't the GTB and the Pulse the same bike with different stock components? That's what I remember hearing, although I could've heard wrong...

GTB was Taiwanese made with less grade aluminum and a steel fork and the Pulse was American made with Easton tubing and a Kinesis Alu fork

why would you speculate on something you know nothing about? not one to nitpick, but of all the things newjacks do, guessing about what something is based on nothing substantial is the most annoying.

your annoying, cause your post contributed less than mine.

sp00ki 05-31-09 06:10 PM

yeah-- less pointless speculation/misinformation.

The GTB (generic Track Bike) had 7000 series tubing, the Pulse was Easton. The stock Pulse was also outfitted with DA components and Mavic CXP30 rims. The GTB had a Sugino crank and hubs, Alex rims. ANd cost about half that of the Pulse.

(some variation by model year)

I'd be pretty surprised if "GTB" actually stood for "Genereic Track Bike" yet everyone tells me this....
