Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Just learned to skid!

I've been riding fixed for about a month now...always had a front brake but usually relied on slowing down ahead of time rather than using the brake. I decided it was time to learn how to skid. I rode to a quiet little alley, got going, shifted my weight forward and locked my right leg.....a little hop and a satisfying skid. I tried it a few more times and even tried it locking my left leg. I was skidding at every red light all the way home. Big fun!

Ok now get you a set of new tires you'll need em

Skidding is fun. A reall good way to get good at it I found is to do it some grass, it's buttery.
