Dent on the chainstay

This is my drive-side (where my chain is on) of my chainstay.
I have the dent on it.
can I fix it?
is it serious and should i avoid this frame?
or
can i just ride it since it's not so serious problem?
safe? or unsafe?
please let me know how you guys think.

hard to tell from the pic but it could be the manufacturer-made crimps to allow chainring or pedal clearance.

manufacturer-made one is already there beside the dent.

I'm assuming a steel frame?
I'd ride it, every once in a while look at it and inspect it to make sure that it isn't cracking further.
Or if you know someone that welds, hit it, then ride it but keep inspecting that spot every once in a while.
And start looking/saving for a new frame in the meantime.

If it's aluminum, I wouldn't ride it.

Hopefully you run a brake? If not, and if that thing fails, it may not be a fun ride...

Steel frame? No worries beyond cosmetic.

JDT- Does it matter what kind of steel it is? For example, I know 631 is a little thinner than 520 (4130). Is it worse to dent a frame that is made of 631 or 853?

Find a welder who can fill it in, touch up paint, good as new.

Shouldn't cost much.
