White Tires: Good Or Bad idea?
Is it worth is to buy white tires or do they dirty too quickly? I think they look sick but I'm not sure if they are a good idea. Are white wall tires a better choice?

They get dirty but it's not terrible. I mean, if you are okay with them being not pristine then I am sure you will be happy with them.

I dunno'. I don't ride SS or fixed.
Michelin prorace3's are nice not what you're looking for, though.

they don't get super dirty, depending on what surface you're riding on
here's mine...i'd say white tires look great depending on rim color

thanks man!
They are CST super HP's, $40 for a
pair. They get pretty bad reviews but I don't skid very much and they hold up just fine.

I'd go with ride quality over aesthetics.
Michelin Krylion carbons for everyday/training tires. If they made white one's i'd consider it since I have a white frame.

He wasn't really asking about performance though, just about the dirt factor.

white randos suit my needs perfectly, i can ride trails and road and the white stays fairly white and they look classy against the maroon steamer frame...maybe someone should make a cream color tire...hmmm

if you are a hipster: get white tires
if you are not a hipster: get black tires
and
if you ARRRRE a hipster: get black tires WITH black rims.
simple as that.
and if you dont touch water or dirt, you cant tell the dirtiness if you take a side shot.
(grey is the most dirty they'd get if you dont touch water)
see the grey?

Recently I was thinking about getting some tires that have a blue stripe, but have decided against it. Basically, for me, I was going to be paying more for a lesser tire just to get blue. I could have gatorskin for $25 or a Michelin Lithion w/ blue stripe for $28. Didn't make sense to me. Randos are a good tire, though, that comes in white so maybe it's different w/ that specific color.
P.S.--having colored tires doesn't make you a hipster. I see tons of hardcore roadies w/ colored tires.

the greying of the white tires also vary. for example for me~ when i go from home to school: i first go thru a neighborhood with trees, so my tires get darker grey. then when i hit campus~ its all paved bike paths, less dirt on the road, my tires become a lighter shade of grey~ its cool watching the color change.
