It was only and idea, a great one, but only and idea. It never got the money, and with the economy...

T-town would be...?
I live in Valley Forge so that would have been quite convenient.

Philly Gov. wants nothing to do with anything thats not going to make them money.
Tell the mayor that the city can charge $20.00 a head to use the track and they'll have it built before you can finish your sentance!

what they need to do with a velodrome is have betting like in the old days. gambling is big. the slots will save Pa and betting on bike racing will allow us to pave the Turnpike with Gold LOL

+1

I dont know why the japanese keirin gambling thing isnt more common in the states. we have horse betting. why not cycling? in japan, it funds the educational system and other public works. but of course, the conservatives and bible people would not approve.

because we do not allow gambling on human powered sports in the us. that will not be legal for a long long time.

psirue 06-20-09 10:58 AM

...and that's just silly. keep the system well-regulated (those personally involved cannot bet but those who are merely spectators can) and it would be fine. I think this is just another case of someone else's morality being put forth as legislation.
