Light & small repair kits
I just picked up some patches, park tool brand- anyone have any experience with them? Most other park tool stuff I've found to be good.
I intend to get a CO2 inflator, since they are smaller than pumps. Anyone have a good brand/model suggestion? Post what you carry on your ss/fg for repair. |

I wouldn't recommend using both CO2 and a patch on the same tube. The CO2 will leak out so much faster at least in my experience.

CO2 is nifty until you get more than one flat during a ride. Unless you carry a bunch of spares, you're left with a flat tire, an empty inflator and a heart full of hate.
Get a Topeak Road Morph G and save yourself the disappointment. I also carry 2 tubes, levers, a GP2 patch kit, multi-tool, and Jethro Tule. |
I'm trying to avoid carrying that much stuff on this bike. I do have a pedros trixie on the fixed gear. My road bike has a tube, patches, pump, tool, levers, etc.
I want to keep this as light & small as possible- less than jersey pocket size would be ideal. It'll be for my fixed gear and the roadgoing track bike which is in progress still. Has anyone else had CO2 leak faster from a patch than regular air? *knock on wood* I'm not usually riding far enough to manage 2 flats in one ride, unless I really was to hit something bad. I've been riding 9 years, and haven't even managed that on my mtn bike. Forgot to mention above, I'll have two levers also. |

It blocks most of the airflow, so you don't quite realize, until enough air has leaked out that all of a sudden POW pinch flat. happened to me more times than i wish to recal (twice, but it's still to many) |
I carry:
15mm wrench Cheap cycling multi-tool Two levers Two 16 gram Co2 cartridges One tube Genuine Innovations Microflate a few patches ...and bus fair to get me home in case something breaks that I can't repair out on the road. It all fits in one part of one pocket on the bag I use for commuting and around town. |
