why bother with those? 50 bucks each? i don't know how these are for skidz, but seeing as i love my rubino pro, i can almost guarantee these are much better for the same price ( and free shipping)

the money quote: "Ever ride home in the rain to be alarmed by something and when you whip into a hockey stop, your bike kicks out from under you, landing you on your ass and your bike in the street? Well, I've done it a few times and it's no fun." i have no hard feelings towards him at ALL, but this quote was just corny as ****. sounds like a crappy commercial from the 80s or something. i asked my LBS about these cuz my gf wants a hot pink tire and they recommended the halo as a comparable alternative. theyre like 25 or less on sites ive found so far. check em out. |
i dont have any ill will, but i think his website is quite silly.

I got my black Fyxation tires today from Ben's. I took them out for my first ride and was a bit unsure at first because they are 28's. Got used to them pretty quick though. I'm pretty stoked. So far so good.
I think the guys that have been bashing the tire on this thread should take a closer look at their site - www.fyxation.com. They seem like a company that makes stuff specifically for city riding and fixed gear. They don't seem to be a giant bike or component company just out to cash in on what they see is the latest trend. Either way, they get my vote. |

In any case- I have seen the tires in person in Taiwan and they are primarily intended for the trick crowd- giving maximum traction. Colors are pretty much a given right now- hard to bash a company for doing that. If colors didn't sell then companies would stop making them. These tires seem pretty cool- and I know that a lot of engineering did go into them- not just re-branding the same old thing. It isn't cheap to buy a mold for a completely new tire design! Hope that helps some- I know Nick (the owner) too well to see his stuff completely bashed by people who have never seen, handled, or ridden them in person! |
this just isnt the crowd for this tire. tricktrack for sure.

I actually know the owner Nick quite well- used to work for us then moved his family to Taiwan- brilliant engineer actually. Helped to design some of Hayes' hydraulic disc brakes, etc.
