question about coaster brake

I recently got a coaster brake SS changing from a fixed gear. I keep on getting this problem where the nut that is on the side of the coaster brake arm comes loose some how and pulls my wheel so it hits the frame. Usually some good tightening will fix this but I still don't understand why it is happening. I have a track frame and the axle of the coaster brake hub is too long but all that means is I need to tighten it more. My friend thinks I should get axle spacers and that would fix it but I don't really know. Anybody have a clue why it is happening?

It doesn't matter how much extra axle is sticking out, in terms of slipping.

Check to make sure the threads on the axle and nut aren't stripped. And that you're using a track nut, not a flat 15mm nut.

Good news: a new axle and 2 track nuts will cost about $6.

Thanks a lot, I got some spacers all that did was take it longer for it to happen. I will go to the bike shop tomorrow to get the other things mentioned and hope that works.
