Any info on Vuelta super deep V's?
Hi I was browsing for new wheels and I came across these on craigslist in LA.
https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lgb/bik/967683593.html
I was wondering if anyone had any info on these wheels. THey look like the H+son that just came out. There was a funny little feud going on in CL about one person claiming these wheels were crap and showed pictures of the H+son that blew out. Then the seller replied saying the poster doesn't know what he's talking about because he's selling Vueltas not H+sons.
Anyways they seemed to have popped out of nowhere and are pretty cheap ($200 for a pair).
Anyone ever seen these before?

they look like exaggerated deep v's.

First of all, I would never buy these silly looking wheels, but even if I was interested, I would hesitate to trust these guys. The hubs are misidentified. They are Novatec (Bens,Dimension, etc) hubs, not Fomulas. They are either being deceptive, or they are totally ignorant.

looks like rattle canned too. i'm definitely not remotely interested in letting these rims come anywhere near my bikes, but i'm sorta curious as to whether or not people are going to start buying them.

these guys are a shop here in long beach/signal hill that purchases old road bikes and fixes them up (hence junkyrustybikes) and re sells them, so im guessing they arent totally ignorant. to be sure, op you should email them and ask what brand they are.
they also sell tires at $20 and comes in different colors. so i emailed them to see what brand and they said they are puegasus tires. anyone have even heard of them?

And will people please stop talking **** on Hplusson's because one rim failed when some turd was misusing it? Prolly still says 'hplusowned' or some variation thereof anytime they're mentioned. Failures happen without misuse, it's just a fact of life.

they look like the sl42 rims from H+son. and if they are...then 200$ is a steal for them as those rims alone cost 125$ a piece lolol....
the red is overkill, but that's the cheapest i've seen any 40+ mm wheel at.

so what if he wants to list in inches vs mm.
other bike parts are listed in inches anyways, so it's not even a big deal.
1/8" chains
1 1/8" headsets

Bike parts are also measured in inches? ORLY?
Go into a shop and ask for a stem 4 3/8" inches long. See if they look at you like an asshat while they get out a calcultor.

Edit: I am well aware that some bike parts have been standardized as non-metric. But many are standardized as metric. Seatpost diameter, stem length, bar width, BB width, crank lengths, wheel diameters, etc, etc. I am not interested in getting in stoopid fights here, just pointing out the ignorance of a seller selling a new-to-the-market product using a system of measurement for that product that NO ONE ELSE USES. I would inherently question the quality of such a product/ seller.

We are getting these rims in probably in March. They are 42mm deep and seem to be very decent quality. I have the samples on my desk right here- let me know if I an answer anything about them!

be careful, they might explode
i'd put them on the floor or something...wouldn't want them to explode so close to face-level
