So my new fixie is built up on that Marin road frame I got last week. This rig is effin sweet - no complaints whatsoever. There's something about it I didn't expect, though - toe overlap. As far as I had been aware, it was something you really only encountered with track frames. Apparently not, though. On a few turns my toe was hitting my wheel. 54cm road frame, and it's not like I have big feet, either. Not a problem, just not something I wasn't expecting. Is overlap something anyone else as run into on a non-track frame?

Same story on my 1986 Fuji Pulsar. Took me by suprise the first time out. I'm pretty sure that the Pulsar was kinda low on the Fuji chain so I can't imagine it'd need to be tight for performance sake.

I think you can get this on most any bike depending on how your positions yourself. I know I've ganked my front tire on my MTB before. For what it's worth.

I got toe overlap on my converted Fuji, 54 frame too. No worries, I like the responsiveness, it's tight.

just wondering how long are your crank arms?

I think they're 175mm. I don't actually know for sure, but they look about 1cm longer than the 165 cranks I have.

i know a guy who cut like .5 '' from the tip of his shoes to avoid overlapping. side benefit: gets air to sweaty feet.
