Holy sh*t...a pothole did that???
 |
Holy **** dude, "slight" nothing you nailed that thing.Really surprised by this. Hows the front wheel?
Wall art, perfect your crash story, save up for a new frame, try not to repeat.
wheel has a taco bend but it looks normal you just see it when you spin it and my fork is fine too...
should i get another steam roller or a Iro? i wish i had taken a complete pic but i dissembled it and took it to a buddies local metal shop |
it's wall art now,
Seeing this has made me wanna make my first post ever,
sucks man, sorry to see your bike get like this :( |
Seeing this has made me wonder if potholes in california are two stories deep.
Was this "pothole" rolling on four wheels and disguised as an automobile?

Damn...looks like a bad crash. Seeing the road rash made me think of a crash I had about 10 yrs ago. I still have scars. Glad you are OK.

Holy-faq! Does the population living at the bottom of that pothole speak a different dialect of English?
You must have hit the other side of this guy's pothole in China.....
http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=528463 In all seriousness, this is the second frame bend at the same point this year with a Surly frame from a pothole. Glad you weren't seriously hurt. When you contact Surly, you might be able to use the linked thread to support a possible warranty claim, by the way. Here's his frame damage from his pothole encounter touring China with a LHT..... http://i43.tinypic.com/11qu544.jpg |
good luck man. sucks.
Where was this pot hole located at San Jose? That way I know to avoid it!!
That LHT is in no way bent at the same place as the OP's Steamroller. You can take any steal bike and smash it into a deep enough pot hole and do that kind of damage. Just be glad your headtube didn't shear off and cause more damage to your fleshy surface than you've already suffered.
