lockring & Park HCW-5

Do any of you know if the Park HCW-5 wrench will work on a lockring (specifically a Surly lockring). A guy at my LBS sold me one but now I'm questioning it. I haven't recieved the cog yet but should by this weekend.

Let me know your thoughts,
