New SS/FG Option, Worthwhile?
 

Hello forums members. First time posting. THis is an awesome site and I'm super excited to soak in the wealth of info here. I've always ridden cheapo mountain bikes that were too small for me. I'm 6'2. I'm 30 yrs young and am wanting to get back on a bike and get in shape. I rode a friend's 9-5 a while back and decided that ss/fg is definately for me. But I figured I would just get a cheapo to start out on until I'm %100 confident. I've been reading a lot here and have looked at offerings from BikesDirect (Kilo, Moto, Dawes etc.) I also went to my local shop and took a look at a Steamroller which was nice but a little more dough than I originally planned on.

I just saw these on ebay and thought I would search here for more info. DId'nt find anything on them. Probably because they are relatively new. Now from what I understand most of these cheaper fixie options are likely made in the same place and just rebadged correct? So the only real difference is some have slightly better components than others. These Gavin bikes look pretty generic but they don't look half bad and are cheap. Anyone have one of these or care to comment?

FWIW I will not be doing tricks or anything, just want to get in better shape. Thanks for taking the time to read this.:D

Also have you tried looking for used bikes, on craigslist, and ebay? You're likely to get a much better deal.
If nothing else get a $300 bike from Bikes direct. Tried and proven.
