Mavic TT bars
|
mmmm......i love mine sooo much. 2" drop is a little deep though, but they look hot on my roadie.

I really like those bars. I've got a pair of cut down road bars flipped over and was thinking of purchasing some real bullhorns. I'm gonna assume that a shorter stem is in need so as not to stretch you out so much?
|
GODDAMNIT! THOSE ARE MINE, YA HEARRRRRRRRR????

they look a lot like my Profile Airwings but with a little more drop. What's so special about these?
|
Rare because they are Mavic's. Besides, I still mentally see them mounted on Lemond's 89 TT bike along with the infamous clip-ons. But the bullhorns are what raised my eyebrows.

they have a real nice drop, are drilled for internal cables and they are not that wide (i asked): 40cm. i wouldnt have told you all this because i was gonna bid on them (i still might) but i just bought a set of syntace stratos with 800mm drop for $50 at www.downtube.com
also i think the 'extra narrow bars' fad is dumb. what-- like you are squeezing between city buses every five minutes and that extra centimeter is really gonna make that life or death difference? pssh, whatever. its just dumb snobbery the same as anti-brake bull****. |

That old late 80's Mavic stuff is sh1t hot. I had a whole 8 speed indexed gruppo once, and only have the brakes, bars and derailleurs left now. Can believe I sold the cranks. They were dumb, but they sure do look cool. Anyone know if Mavic ever made track hubs? |
Yes, they did. Low-flange, beautiful stuff. Saw a set on ebay a month or so ago, sold for around $150ish.
