one track mind girlfriend :-D
Granted, she wont ride with leather toe straps. But wow.
I just wanted to tell you guys my girlfriend's better than yours. (probably) She rides a 52x16 singlespeed and tells people to "sit down while climbing!!!" She yelled at me for suggesting that the gears on her raleigh racing USA be kept. She started messengering today. She met me at working bikes. We started dating at critical mass, a month ago. She hates back brakes. Even when its a freewheeler. She cried when she had to leave her motobecane in NYC. She was happy when I singlespeeded a Lotus for her. She swears by drop bars. I can haul ass and she'll keep up. She can haul ass and I'll keep up. There's more, but thats between me and her :-D So do block long skid for Jen, the bike messenger girl dream come true. Also, see my track bike (and roadie, and chopper, and tallie) here: www.angelfire.com/ak5/hoody/ |

My girlfriend rides a converted Gitane singlespeed that I built for her, but she is not hardcore like your girlfriend.... wanna trade? my girlfriend rocks the bike world as well, as long as she can stop going over the handlebars everytime her wheel gets stuck in the trolley tracks on my street. damn city! |
My wife rides bikes, although not super fast. I have to say though, I don't think I would trade her off, my wife ROCKS...
Ok I might trade her for a night or two, that is all... Ok a week TOPS... Phil One month, that is the MOST, I swear... |
OK: done puking.
You are either really lucky or in sad shape once she can beat you in a race. Then you are no longer interesting. OK: sorry, that was only sour apples talking. Enjoy |
52x16! is there any real hills in chi town?
|
hell no, chitown is flat as hell :-D but that gear can blast! I wish sh'd learn how to spin though, shes a cranker like I used to be.
Shes messin for arrow, and making me wanna go back to that hell-job (its sooo addictive but soo crappy) and the poor girl had a nice "i lost a tootha and half my face" faceplant in nyc a little while ago, pothole on the brooklyn bridge, so ya, shes had the same problems as the tram track tire girl |

|

omg those short bars on that myiata are awesome.
i've thought about doing that a couple of times, since most of the time i ride next to the stem, but i imagine they make climbing steep hill a biatch. |
i should get a new wheelset for miyata, she deserves better. then i can throw that suzue basic on some scrapyard frame for polo. i started riding with those same wheels on a scrapyard schwinn traveller 1 (chicago era baby) with a bent fork. i was hooked on fixi ever since.

I want a girlfriend like yours.
My ex-fiancee dumped me 8 months ago, a month before our wedding. She collected shoes and Louis Vuitton bags. I guess I lucked out in a way, because I bought a bike after she left in order to get my mind out of the dumps. I would never have gotten back into bicycling if we hadn't broken up.
