Totally.....because irresponsibility is always the better course. As it turns out, dude never got back to me. I now consider the matter closed. Yeah, I think it was his fault, but I wasn't completely innocent either. Flee the scene all you like - I maintain that in that situation, it was the right thing to do.

Hell yeah - there are too many people out there without much thought about what the right thing to do is - in your situation, a lot of people would have tried to sue.

I was rearended by a lady, but all it did was kill my rear wheel - all I wanted was a new rear wheel. It turns out she was in a work-release program from prison, and her sister was the one that paid the money to get a new wheel. I didn't want to mess her life up more, she didn't hurt me, oh well...

This country I think is getting way to sue happy - everyone wants a court case because they were too stupid to use common sense.

This guy probably figures that it's not worth his time to try to get money out of you (you ride a bike, that means you don't have enough money for a car, right? hence, no money for his car) and just moved on with it all... But you made your effort, and were willing to pay what damages were caused. There aren't too many people out there these days that would do that.

Consider it a moral victory....
