Cranksgiving 09?
I ran a search for thread titles beginning with Cranksgiving and found nothing, so I apologize if this has been discussed already. I'm debating heading up to NYC from Delaware next weekend to participate in the charity alleycat event. I emailed one of the race organizers (Squid), who responded pretty promptly to my concerns. For one, I'm really worried about either my entire bike or parts off it getting stolen and want to know how secure I'll be locking it up with 2 different OnGuard U Locks when I'm running into different stores. I'm also not confident in navigating my way around the big apple either. He said a lot of people travel in packs though and it wont be a problem if I get a map. That was somewhat comforting. Just wondering if anyone in here is heading up to participate and has any insight to my concerns....

Cranksgiving is my favorite race of the year.
You'll be fine locking up your bike as you run in and out of stores. I actually only use a small cable lock during the race so I don't have to haul a heavy ass chain around.
As far as navigation goes, even if you are slow as ****, you'll find a group of people that you'll stick with throughout the entire race so I wouldn't worry too much about that.
Hell, PM me if you want to ride with us.
