If you need to take a break on a fixed gear bike, you just let your legs go limp. then they spin like yarn in a sewing machine and it doesn't require effort on your part. That's what I do... but the "hills" in Houston, and as far N. as Austin (the only areas I ride) are MUCH smaller than Cali.
Like I said, just a thought... and to egg it on... these guys don't seem TOO concerned with what's "dangerous" to many of us.

I couldn't find any details after the first page on a google search. Did they actually complete the course?

they say they went the 750 miles, i really doubt that though.

i remember when they were doing it, they cut a few of the rides short.
