Well, I don't know the in's and outs of Taiwanese frame builders. I just knew that Fuji was bought out by an American company and the Comp is made in Taiwan. I guessed at the same factory as the track team as they are so similar.
So yes, you provided me with good info that extended my knowledge.
But I was not really wrong at all!

Yeah, but Fuji didn't make the frame, don't know if they even designed it. Maybe they did and had a certain number of years exclusivity contract with the taiwanese company who made them, interesting that when Fuji released a new design Fuji track pro, the old design starts being offered by other companies OEM style.
Fuji is the framebuilder.
Fuji is owned by Advanced Sports. Advanced Sports is 60% owned by Ideal Bicycle Manufacturing of Taiwan. Ergo, Fuji makes their own bikes. Ergo (2), any bike being sold by BD that looks like a Fuji model, IS a Fuji model. There isn't a separate builder who is selling copies of Fuji frames - it's Fuji selling Fuji frames to BD.
Some of BD's bikes are suspiciously similar to Raleigh models. They are, however, NOT Raleighs. They are made by Kinesis, which is a separate company that also makes frames for Raleigh (and a lot of other brands).

I find it hilarious and ironic that the first person to ever post their Motobecane Track Pro on the internet totally defeated its purpose by putting risers on it.
Also hilarious is your attempt, M441, to excuse yourself from putting risers on your MTP by showing off all of your other riser-less bikes.

What's wrong with risers?
Knowing it'll be riden on the street i'd rather see risers than track drops.
Get butt hurt on the internet much?

I've seen the jig, but never a scale and I've never had a bike weighed. I can't find any mention of a weight restriction in the USAC rulebook, either. Can you point me to the rule, or perhaps quote it as it pertains to track cycling?

"For all road, cyclo-cross and track events there is a minimum weight requirement of 6.8 kg (14.99 lb)."
This is a UCI (International Cycling Union) rule. I'm not sure if it's a USA Cycling rule.
So, if you set a world record at a USA Cycling event, it must be on a bike weighing 15lbs or more if you want it recognized by UCI.

After a bit more research I gather that National Championships are governed by UCI rules:
https://www.usacycling.org/news/user/story.php?id=3582
"As a USA Cycling National Championship, all bicycles must comply with current UCI technical regulations. The UCI regulations are available at www.uci.ch and are found in Part 1, General Regulations under Section 1.3 beginning on page 54."

Not sure what is up with the DB, not letting me view the last page on this thread...
I got mine from the brown truck today, looks good. Very sharp.
Wheels are going, along with seatpost (does not let me get the seat forward enough when I jack it up since the frame is too small for me), saddle (have an old one sitting around), handlbars, maybe even stem. Bike is becoming my pursuit machine and will get Cane Creek 85mm deep carbon wheels, 0 offset Thomson seatpost, probably Thomson stem, Profile T2+ base bar with Profile CSX aerobars. Will post some pictures when it is setup.

I bought it too small on purpose, so I would have a larger saddle to handlebar drop for individual pursuit. It also lets me not have to buy a fancy Deda huge drop stem, which are not cheap.
Usually saddle setback (as you raise the seat, it goes back) would be a concern, but I have to keep saddle 2" behind BB center for pursuit anyway. With the stock setup and my seat jacked up to the "insert here" mark, (which is actually too high), and the seat slid all the way forward, I am at like 2.75" behind center of BB, so hopefully a 0 offset seatpost and I am all set.

fair enough, but sounds like a lot of trouble for something that could have also been changed with a different brand stem.
Unless your sold on the overpriced deda stuff, a bunch of companies make +/-25ish degree stems.
