Bike Forums - Cheap Leather Straps

Don't buy them. Ok I should have known when I was shopping on line for leather straps and they go for $50 to $150 that the ones I got at my LBS for $8 were nothing but crap. Fortunately I didn’t DIE! Last night I put on my new Nitto bull horns and naturally went out for a ride. I wanted to practice some emergency skid stops and went at it. About the 3rd one the damn strap broke in two and I almost went flying off the bike. Sheese if it were a real situation I'd be toast. Any hoo thanks for letting me *****. I'm gonna take those back to the LBS and replace with some nylon cheapies for now and drop some coin on some real straps...
