Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Use a gatorskin on the front. When you skid through the rear, move the front tire to the back and install the new tire on the front. You always want the newest tire on the front, because its the most dangerous tire to have a blowout.

It took 25 posts to get to the correct answer.
The rest of you are dumbasses for not understanding the question or supplying decent advice.

I'm not sure that all the answers were useless, one of the guys broke out a discussion about using 'heavy' gasses to inflate your tires.

Legit.

Ok, i run a Gator up front and drag a Panaracer on the back. I put on a lot of miles, ever skid around a corner and hit some gravel. Its nice to have some traction up front, try a Gran Prix 4000. Its a softer compound race tire, but Gators are my favorite. Kevlar is your friend......

Awesome responses. I like how serious some people got.
Next question: What's the best tire for wearing like a vest?

Wait, you're skidding on a Gatorskin? Those are nice tires. Why destroy them like that?
