Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Question about riding backwards on a FG

Is riding backwards (backwards circles) easier with your feet in the clips/straps or on the other side of the pedal? I track stand on the other side of the pedal with no clips/straps.

should be the same. practice on the other side though, as it's easier to get your foot off of the pedal when you bail

just try it both ways and decide for yourself.

....just don't get too sweaty
....and make sure you have special fixed front tire for riding backwards (not your skidding front tire).

I'm working on this too. For me, the other side of the pedal is better-keeps me from getting tangled up in a fall.

Why are you bothering to trackstand if you're flipping the pedal over?
Maybe b/c this is another joke thread?

You can if you sit on the handlebars
Well, bike going forward, me going backwards.

How is it I can do that all over a parking lot on my BMX, but can't do a friggin' backwards circle on the fixed gear? Well, I haven't really worked at it... but STILL.
