weinmann dp 18, how wide of a tire
does anyone know how wide of a tire i can fit on dp18's. I want to try some randonneur 32's if possible, has anyone tried this

you can usually exceed the recommended level by a good bit, but the shape of the tire goes off. Instead of being round, it gets a ridge that can make cornering difficult.
I've run 38's, just be careful when you lean in heavily.

there is a huge trend with XC mountain biking to have skinny rims under MTB tires (2.1, 2.3's) it works fine as long as the bead and sidewall are strong enough.

My polo bike has DP18s with a 28mm Randonneur on the front and a 37mm on the rear. I'd prefer a wider rim for the rear, but no trouble with it so far.
