Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

How many bikes do you own?

I have two bike and thinking about adding a third. How many bikes do you own? At what point does one need to join a 12 step program? I could easily see myself buying couple of more.

My two bikes are:
GT Gutterball fixed gear
Giant ATX mountain bike

one track one road one mountain and one frameset.

will very soon turn the mountain back to mountain and the frameset into a singlespeed commuter, or sell the frameset and turn the kilo into the commuter.

I've got:
• a commuter/hybrid
• a fixed gear that also runs a 7 speed IGH and doubles as a road bike (like having 2 bikes in one!)
• a hardtail mountain bike

I'd like to get at least a few more though-
• a 3-speed ridgid 29er
• a cyclocross bike
• a beater coaster braked "townie" bike
• about 2 dozen others just for variety.

I have three:

1. Identiti Dr. Jekyll DJ
2. Soul Cycles Dillinger 29er SS
3. My new Panasonic track bike

The 29er or the DJ is on the chopping block....I guess whichever gets bought first.
