Check the top of your seatpost for hairline cracks! Mine developed a vertical crack, on the top front, about 1/2 cm long. Bike is an '06, model is no longer made, it will be interesting to see how the warrenty plays out. No, I didn't use the wrong size seatpost or overtighten the seat bolt - both confirmed by my lbs that sold me the bike. I will try to post pics on mon., going to the beach now w/ a vintage steel track bike ('76 fuji) still going strong!

back from the beach...here's a pic - you can barely make out the crack, it was hard to get it to show up. I examined the top and inside of the seat tube, the crack extends along the top but is not evident on the inside. Could it be just the clearcoat and paint is cracked? I removed the seatpost and inserted just the first cm of it back in the seat tube and gently pushed to try to see if the crack widened any, it did not.
