Road bike newbie...Please help picking a bike.

Hi I've been researching for a few days and I finally decided to get a single speed road bike. (I've never tried a road bike before but whatever...)

So I've been looking at craigslist for a few days... and I really like the following bike

PARTS LIST:
➡ Alex DC 18's
➡ Formula Hubs
fixed/single speed flip flop hub
➡ Soma everwear rear tire (50%)
➡ Michelin Dynamic front tire (80%)
➡ Rock Werks cog 15 teeth
➡ Wellgo Caged pedals
➡ Specialized saddle

I don't know if $350 would be too much for this bike.
So I need some help...

Thanks you so much!!!
Ryan

What kind of brakes does it have? What is the frame made of? It has two brakes, right? If it has a freewheel, you need two brakes.

$350 sounds like too much, but maybe it's worth $350 if the frame is special.

The seller told me that he has a front brake only and the frame is made out of a cromalloy-m.
Hmmm?

the picture is crap, his/her spec list is vague and i call shenanigans on the $450 in upgrades claim.

nevermind the fact that there's about an inch of clearance between the pedal and the ground so pedal strike is going to be a major issue without replacing the cranks should you decide run fixed.

It's also french, so things like replacement BBs are slightly more difficult to find. If you're not gonna upgrade, don't worry about it too much, but something to think about.
