2010 Cannondale Capo
http://www.greatlakescycling.com/wp-.../10pr2_blk.jpg @ $939.99
and http://www.greatlakescycling.com/wp-.../10pr1_bbs.jpg @ $1599.99 What the ****? |
|
hahahahahahahahahah
1600 and still FSA veros? r u srs brah? at least they're not those horrid 4 bolt ones, but seriously ludicrously overpriced. you could probably build up a '93 track frame for around the price of those... |
That place is just down the street for me. That's where I usually take my bike. Pretty funny.
|
well it has a really nice wheelset and really nice bars/stem/seatpost. Cranks are kind of crappy, though. I wouldn't pay 1600 for it. Plus, I think it's damn good looking. Way prettier than 2009 capos.
|
aluminum fork? really?
i don't mind the frame colors but the way these things are spec'ed is really odd. |
much better than last years.
but still... |
cosmic elite wheelset yes, vero crankset no. even though vero is good enough for 99% of riders.
|
those are mavic ellipse to be exact.

http://www.greatlakescycling.com/wp-.../10pr1_bbs.jpg Thats better! It's annoying to have to go to linked photos when you can just insert them into here. |
$1600 bike with $80 cranks = epicfail.
|
|
if they come with expensive cranks people will complain that they're omniums and not 75's, or 75's not record, or record not miche, or miche and not dura ace.
i'm not arguing that 1600 sounds excessive, but it's not like i'd feel that different if it had slightly higher quality cranks. |
omniums would be much better suited. this would be like getting a madone and it has mtb platforms with resin clips and nylon straps. it works, but it's ****ing stupid
EDIT: especially now that they're not made in the US, they don't really demand the same markup. |
I don't understand why they market a bike with track drops and a ridiculous saddle to bar ratio as a street bike.

i'm going to put this as nicely as possible: you've been misinformed.
CAAD production will not move overseas until 2010, for the 2011 model year. do your part to stop the spread of FUD. looking at it some more, i guess it isn't that bad. the rest seems to be all cinelli stuff, but I doubt the need for the unicantor. I guess they really did use the veros to avoid people from arguing over which cranks they should have used. seems pretty poor though, they really let the rest down. If that was the case why not just sell the capo as a frameset |
CAAD frames will still be made in the US for this year.
you can make out the proud to be made in the US decal on the seat tube on this '10 capo: http://cdn.mos.bikeradar.com/images/...aih-798-75.jpg it seems they're marketing the base model as a street bike, and the top of the line model as a track machine. but at the same price point as the Fuji Track Pro, Felt TK2, etc...it would be a tough sell with the more relaxed geometry, alum fork and cheaper components. |
Oh good, it has the ugly half-wrapped handlebar tape, incongruous fork and strange components right off the rack, and all that for only an outrageously exaggerated price. So people don't even have to "upgrade" their bike to make it look hideous anymore.
|
So they are selling a single-speed Capo 2 at the same price as a CAAD9-7? That doesn't make any sense.
|
oh Cannondale, Cannondale, Cannondale. What'd you do?
|
The frame on the Capo 1 is damn nice.
Wouldn't pay $1600 for it, but I'd like to grab one as a frameset. |
being made in the united states isnt a sign of quality to people in other countries.
|
i love the naked frame. but 1600?! i thought this was suppose to be geared towards urban cycling? next thing you know theyre gonna put rear rack eyelets on it.
|
i'd love to get this as a frameset, but for 1600 bones i'll keep riding my 96 r600 convert.
