Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

It's just been so long since I've seen the show. Like high school long ago. I recognized the face....but then I was lost.

I am a roadie lurking here and planning to buy a fixed gear. Someone posted this is the road cycling forum and half the guys there either thought it was not funny at all or just did not get that it was poking fun at them. LOL Hilarious video.

I honestly think it's probably 10 times funnier if you're someone who has a foot in both camps - a bit of the hipster fixie pixie, and a bit of the weight weenie weekend warrior. Not too far into either extreme, but just enough to poke fun at yourself.

I don't what's funnier the part where all the roadies don't get that they are being made fun of also, or the fact that they don't realize they are being made fun of....
