When do the new langsters arrive?
Just wondered if anyone knew when Specialized dealers would have Langsters again?
Thanks |

why? They seem like a good deal pricewise. I don't want to build a bike, just buy one. I'm open to suggestions. I'm finally in a position to be able to buy a couple new bikes for myself. |

Basically where IN, MI, & OH meet Do you think it's a decent bike? |
yeah it's a decent bike.for the price you could upgrade components and still not have spent too much money. probably want to switch out components right away.

the stock freewheel that it comes with is removed, replaced with 17t dura ace cog rear hub pedals bars brake levers seat (the specialized seat HAS TO GO, its horrible) seatpost stem both tires and soon enough i'm gonna need a new bottom bracket, getting some strange noises from down there. |
soon all you'll need to replace is the frame...just kidding.
i like mine. so far have replaced: back wheel and hub due to damage to original hub drops for bull horns for personal aesthetic reasons want to replace: saddle-for something more comfortable stem-for something shorter bars-for something more compact everything else i can deal with til they break |

My Lanster's BB makes some horrible noises too.

I actually broke my Langsters frame; likely because it wasn't designed strong enough to haul my fat ass around. For now I am on a Redline Monocog. I look forward to getting back on a fix in the future. I was able to salvage most of the components on the Langster. I am keeping an eye out for a good dirt cheap steel frame. The more scratches and ugly the better. If you are not a lard ass like myself (5'11, 300lbs) I would recommend the Langster. If I had to do it all over again I would have tried to find a dirt cheap 70's/80's heavy duty steel road frame and put used crappy/heavy/but safe parts on it. |

Have you looked at the IRO bikes? Steel frames and a damn good price for a complete. I wish I would have been able to wait a couple of extra days to get one instead of my Langster.

I'm about 5'8" and 215lbs, (more like 230 when I ride with my gear) and ride over some pretty hard roads, always wondering if my Langster can handle it, so far no problems. |

I don't blame the bicycle manufacturer at all - I should have known I would be too heavy for this bike - even when I was buying the bike the salesman tried to steer me away from it. Next time I will make sure the frame is made out of crude but strong steel. |
Lobo, maybe you should look at the surley karate monkey. Beefy like a MTB but sized for 700c wheels. And the IRO idea was for the other guy asking about Langsters.
