I have a set of the original Belleri Porteur bars from France that I bought used from Velo Orange a few years ago. I was trying them out but they didn't quite work for my intended project. The finish is much more matte than the shiny new ones and better looking to my eyes.

If anyone is interested I'd consider parting with them. PM me.

I also recently got ahold of a set of the Belleri original bars as well, but I've yet to try them. Can't ride for another 3 weeks. :-(

OK? So what the scoop? do you guys want them because they're new? the "latest thing?" or is there something to these bars thats going over my head at the moment?

I may have to try a pair. I have their Belleville bars and find them to be a bit too narrow, plus I don't have a stem long enough to still get some strech.

have you ever tried to carry a bulky front load with drop bars? It's hard. Oh, handling is fine, but the load gets in the way of the drops, so your capacity is greatly diminished.

that's why I want them at least

Oh! I see, I looked around a bit and found that they (VO) also make a "rack" by the same name, cool, I may want to try these myself!

Definitely not sporty like a bullhorn.

They're not new at all. I've had a set for over a year:

I like them quite a bit for easy cruising around town but they get annoying on longer rides.

How do you figure Porteur bars - which have a slight drop - will put you in more of an upright position than risers?

I have these and they rule pretty hard. You need a stem with an oversized clamp though.

Well in that case, I've had them for two years.
