Why does my chain keep coming off?

I recently picked up an older raleigh conversion, it rides great execpt that the chain comes off randomly every 2-3 miles. And whats weird is that it never has happened under hard acceleration, it is always when im pedaling very lightly. The chain alignment seems to be pretty strait, maybe an 1/8" of an inch off in one direction. Is that the cause of the problem or is there another issue im overlooking. Thanks for any help.

Nice looking rig.
The only other thing I could think that would cause your chain to come off is your chainline.
Does it tend to come off on the cog or the chainring?

I'm pretty sure it is coming off of the cog. The only other thing that I can think of is that I recently put a master link on the chain and got the wrong size so it is too wide. When the master link is on the chain, you can slide the link sideways back and forth about 1/16", I need to get the right size but haven't gotten around to it yet. Could that be part of the problem?

Get the correct size master and you should be set.
