Gnarcore Trick = Bent Fork

I was bruxxing harsh tricks on my fixie last night going downhill mondo quick, my foot slipped into the spokes and jammed itself into the fork causing the bike to frontflip over my head, and dump me on the pavement. My foot is smashed to hell, but the real problem is that the sudden weight impact on the fork bent it backwards an inch, which means my wheel rubs the downtube when it points straight. Any suggestions on how to bend the steel fork back? tie a 2X4 to a jumbo jet or something!?

get a new fork

What's bruxxing?

happytruck 08-21-09 03:30 PM

check the toptube and downtube too
i flipped a bike and, along with the fork, warped the frame too

edit: to answer your question, new fork or take it to the LBS, granted it's really bent

So, if I'm after some street cred, should I work on my bruxxing or my whipskitting?

kyselad 08-21-09 04:40 PM

Both are last year. Move on to bruxxitting. That's where you tape a pigeon to your spokes and run over a puppy.

My foots alright, but in response to the question, it's not THAT bent, I can still pop-shove-it into a no hands freebie without it pulling to the left. I have to keep the front tire at 60psi to give it enough clearance to prevent dangerous chaffing, but inadequate tire pressure has almost quadrupled my 50km commute to work. My roommate and I were thinking about flipping the fork around and putting the same pressure on the frame as when I bruxxed myself. How much stress can the steer tube take?
