What do you think of this set-up?

The nitto mini horns are tiny, teak veeps are tacky. Other than that looks nice.
|
Hows the teak tacky? Are they not as beautiful in real life?
Those bullhorns I'm not so sure about, thats probably the one part I don't really know what to do with but I really like bars <40cm wide. Cause thats what I'm riding now and narrower feels more natural. |
Fancy set up
Those little bullhorns are cool |
looks nice to me, but I don't like those bars. Why not just check out some RB021 bars or something like that? I'm pretty sure you can get narrow bullhorns. I think you will find a regular bullhorn much more comfortable.
I actually think those teak wheels will look really nice especially w/ the brooks wrap and saddle. |
Thompsons, Suginos, Nittos, Brooks and of Course Velocitys.
Dont forget to get some Knogs as well. GAH  |
Pretty expensive set up
Can I suggest a carbon bottle cage? I would pick a different crank. Perhaps the Omniums? |
Omniums I've been looking at but I wanted something with a 46t chainring and all the cheap online ones I've found are 48t. I mean I could switch out the chainring but I'd rather not tack on another expense. Is the difference between the two that great?

We do it because we love you.

I wish I had real wood rims, I don't know how they'd hold up. But they'd be cool. Every thing but the mini horns, and it would be a reeeally nice bike.
Why do some choose those mini horns? Because they are 4foot 3 inchs tall? |
I like the narrower stance because I have and always will be a wrestler, I'm used to having my arms on the inside.
|
I think the shape of the mini horns are nice, you still get some good hand positions.
I am not a fan of weird stick up bars. |
The bars with the secound bend in the horn? Ya those can be reeeally ugly.
|
Yes, the ones that dip down are alright.
I am riding the Noah's are bar right now, I dig them. |
What are your plans for chain? I don't know what i would do, maybe white to match the Mark V. Everything else seems pretty sweet. IMHO the mini bars aren't really going to fit the "vintage" look seem a little tarcky to me. My .02

As far as the mini bars go I'm still not decided. My main issue is I haven't really felt how bars smaller than 40cm feel. So I could change but I need some first hand feel and no LBS stocks anything of the sort so I'll probably wing it when I make the purchase. |
Where does one even find bars like that?
|
All the parts look awesome, the only thing I'm thinking is that's a whole lot of cash to drop on an IRO frame. Either way though that would be a hot rig.

I suggest a really nice bike lock for your expensive build.
|
Because of where I live in LA a bike lock isn't even going to matter, **** will still get jacked. With this bike I plan on only riding it when I can take it inside places with me. I've seen many seatposts, saddles, stems, and bars stolen off bikes so I don't even want to risk that.
