they've been compared to the Adidas skate slips.

ilaidlaw 08-25-09 08:05 PM

I like the low tops, but then again never been big on mid or high tops.

ScottyDEE 08-25-09 08:07 PM

Wow 90$??

bicycle 08-25-09 08:08 PM

AYHSMB

dubbs5050 08-25-09 08:11 PM

so, they are like chuck t's with black toes and 3X the $

mondaycurse 08-25-09 08:34 PM

They have too much of a "Payless Shoes tried to recreate the classic Chuck Taylors" look to me.

spcialzdspksman 08-25-09 08:34 PM

I actually really want a pair of "Arnhem"s.

hairnet 08-25-09 08:37 PM

damn, I though this was going to be about clipless shoes

vegipowrd 08-25-09 09:18 PM

They also have a fiberglass stay in the sole and are made of cordura. I'll wait for some reviews, but they may be rad.

wearyourtruth 08-25-09 09:24 PM

i knew what this thread would be about, but i was secretly hoping it would be about these

Retem 08-25-09 09:46 PM

they got rid of the milo that was a decent shoe

they look like a copy of the old vision skate shoe

dollarmenu 08-25-09 09:56 PM

Biking sneakers need reinforced arches/soles for braking, that'd be a real development.

Yes, that is what these things do.

Yep, that's why I ordered a pair. There are lotsa rad shoes out but impossible to find (like the vans supercorsa) so I was excited to get the email Monday. Only lame thing is they are made in China, but the Chrome dude convinced me on the phone I should buy them (he said there were no manufactures in the US capable of making them).

I don't get the point. Why make a sneaker stiff? Doesn't it suck to walk in these? If the shoe is primarily for riding, why not go clipless?

dollarmenu 08-25-09 11:16 PM

I meant braking like shoes on the tire... lazy but effective. Sneakers tear up awful quick stopping like that. It'd be a nice touch to reinforce that area of the shoe, that would really distinguish it from $30 chucks.

ADSR 08-26-09 01:03 AM

Soooooooooooooooooooo... Shoes should be specifically designed for the stupidest style of braking that like 10 people do? What? Maybe cars should be designed for easier e-brake skid stops? Seriously, Chrome should have made some decent looking clipless-compatible shoes so I could finally put those Smarties that I have hanging around to use. HUGE failure on their part.

Edit: Maybe I shouldn't say failure. Just a big missed opportunity. If they're reinforcing the soles already it would be a simple matter to make something that would work clipless, since the stiffness is already sort of there. Right?

K_phomma 08-26-09 01:29 AM

u mad.

too bad they're not making their slip ons. heard those were cash

bluej7 08-26-09 02:12 AM

i kinda want to order them for the sweet water bottle

Fugazi Dave 08-26-09 02:51 AM

I like them in general. Except for the high tops. SHOES SHOULD NOT HAVE ZIPPERS. Ever. **** that.

Soil_Sampler 08-26-09 04:33 AM
