Found a used Raleigh Carbon fork for cheap. Just not sure if its the right dimensions...
he list the dimensions at
"It is a 1 1/8 x 240mm steer tube"
I got a 49cm moto track if that matters.

Wanted a Windsor hour in 43cm to make into a safe fool-around bike for my modest inseam, but BD has been sold out of the 43cm in all colors for months.
The Moto Track would be great, but the smallest is 49cm.
Figured out that the Moto Messenger is the same frame with brakes, fender mounts and ugly decals for $20 more, but at least is comes in a 43cm. So an orange one is on its way, and expected delivery is tomorrow. Plan on putting on an 18T fixed cog, flat Nitto bar with Dia Tech Dirty Harry BMX brake lever and orange Ourys. Front brake only. Anyone put a front 650c on your Moto track?

Got all the essentials now.
Picked this computer up mid April.
So far this bike has been great. I'm really impressed with the quality of the frame and how lightweight it comes stock.
I've changed the stem, bars, pedals, saddle, cog, and lockring.
It's nice to have a bunch of spare parts later as well.
I've changed the tires twice. Shredded thru some forte tires to get the hang of skidding. I've given that up since I put the conti's on it.
Have had the wheels trued once. And the rear wheel had a spoke replaced recently.
In the future when needed I'll upgrade them but they ride alright.

Normally I ride a 49cm, but don't have any standover clearance. This is going to be a city/short hop/goof off bike, and I may experience some unintended getoffs, so I wanted something safe. It's actually a bit small, almost like a big BMX bike for me. I'm still waiting on the narrow flat bars/grips/brake lever to get here, prolly Monday, and am going to further gear it down to 48 x 20 to make it easier to do stuff.

Hullo, I'm new to the forum sortof, been reading up lots for the past week or so bla bla bla.
I just put in an order for a 49cm Moto Track in white! I'm 5' 6" 30" inseam and this sounds like a good size for me from what I've read. I'm excited to upgrade from my brother's Raleigh venture 3.0 size medium I've been riding around uncomfortable like.
I know this thread has been going for a long time. Whatever, I just wanted to post my enthusiasm somewhere! Lots of great information on this forum.

Project Moto X
The Nitto B-2500AA 50cm straight bars arrived today, but need to wait til Monday for UPS to deliver the brake lever and grips. Note that there is clearance with the 700x25c tire for bar spinz, though won't do with the front brake.

Project Moto X - Phase I complete
USPS and UPS arrived today with my Diatech Dirty Harry right brake lever, Oury orange grips, Soma 20T x 1/8 cog and a chain half link. The bars are Nitto B-2500AA flat straight 50cm. The pedals are Shimano PD-M737 first generation SPD, that are quite flat and ridable with regular soft sole shoes or even flip flops for quick trips where I don't want to bother changing shoes. The original chainring was 46T (BD specs incorrectly said 48T) and very badly out of round, so I replaced it with a 48T x 1/8 steel chainring from an old Sugino RD2 crank. The stem that came with it was supposed to be 90mm, but was actually 120mm, way too long for drop bars or bullhorns, but perfect for the straight flat bars. Also, the bar/stem were supposed to be 26.0mm, but were actually 25.4mm, so you can take a lot of BD's specs with a grain of salt. The stock saddle is actally quite comfy when riding in shorts with boxers, so I don't think I'm going to change it. The bike is a lot of fun to ride with the low gearing and quite maneuverable. So, I'm done messing with it for now, got just about $430 spent, including shipping on the parts and Texas sales tax on the bike, which ships out of Houston.

Well I've had my bike for a few days and I love it! It's so much faster and prettier and more comfortable and fun to ride than my other bike. I love finally having a bike that fits me well.
I have no pictures yet. It probably looks just like any one elses white Track. Actually I replaced the bars with some bullhorn's I had on the other bike. I'm going to get the wheels trued this morning.
Two little suckies- one of the cheap aluminum water bottle holder bolts broke when unscrewing it... now I have to find a way to drill it out. And a weld on top of the bottom bracket wasn't too well done and there's a tiny 2 mm gap in it. I don't know how big a deal that is.

Yeah the welds are very poor on the BD Chinese CroMo bikes. They are much better done on the more expensive Reynolds 520 Kilos, which are made in Taiwan. Can you post a photo of the weld gap, so we can maybe get an idea of how serious it might be?

Tejano, those motobecane frames used to be made in Taiwan. Did you check to see if maybe you got one of the older frames that was made in taiwan?

Mine was made in China and also has crappy welds. My Kilo WT was made in Taiwan, and the welds are very good.
