SS handle bar question

I’m putting together a SS out of an old Schwinn Traveler and want to know my options regarding brake levers. I want to use a cow horn handle bar, can I use drop bar type levers or is my only choice bar end levers? Any other suggestions?

Cheers

I used drop levers turned so they faced forward under the horns of the bull horns for awhile - you have to have your brakes really tight, because when you pull on them they run into the bar pretty easy. A lot of people seem to like putting a MTB lever up near the stem.

A lot of riders prefer to keep their hands near the stem, so secondary cyclocross levers are a good choice too:

i use a bmx lever, mounted near the stem. it's the type that you can clamp/unclamp directly, without having to wreck up your tape, if you use any. it's been a good set-up, thus far.
