Question about Miche BB

I'm thinking of buying the Miche Primato Advanced crankset. From what I've heard, a lot of Miche stuff is proprietary and will usually only work with Miche BB's. I've heard that Miche BB's are pretty crappy. Does anyone know of any other BB's that would work with this crankset? I've heard that the Shimano UN54, Campy C-Record and Phil would work, but are there any alternatives? and are the Miche BB's really as crappy as I've read them to be?

Thanks a lot

Those cranks use an ISO taper, so ideally, an ISO-taper bottom bracket would be best.

The Miche bb have adjustable cups, which is nice. But the cups also have a tendency to come loose, which is ****e. Mines loctited in now, and it's fine. But as long as you use a bb with the same taper, bb shell threading and spindle length, you'll be ok.

There isn't anything proprietary to the Miche drive train. The old ones had the chainring bolts thread into the spider, but that's been phased out.

The Miche is fine, you should just put some blue loctite on the thread cups since A) the drive side does not have a lip so you can't synch in down B) the non-drive side has no lockring to prevent it from backing out.

That said, I have had good luck with Token BB's (avaliable in JIS/ISO tapers). They are basically just like Shimano ones, but come in a 102mm length for ISO. Campy square tapers are the best, but expensive and hard to get nowdays.

I've heard they're sketch, and it's hard to find a BB with a 107mm spindle length.

ive been using miche bb's as opposed to unsealed sugino bb's for my sugino 75's and have no complaints, and the cups have never unthreaded while riding, so for the $29.00 they cost i think they're very good.
