The 'Fixed Gear Frame Set Recommendations' Thread

I think there should be a thread like this for people wanting to get into fixed gears or want to move on from their road bike conversions and want to build their bike from the ground up. I would like to keep this relative to people thinking about doing tricks (i.e. bar spins, skid stops, hops, etc) but is still open to other platforms. Recommendations for forks too, especially if a frame doesn't come with a fork, would be appreciated.

Please provide the name, link, price, and picture. Thanks and hope everyone finds this resource useful.

There's a couple of other frame sets from IRO that may interest you more than this one. Not sure if there's a site that sells this frame set cheaper. Maybe someone can recommend a site.

Also, can I just say that the welds on that leader frame are totally hideous?

rogwilco 09-13-09 03:42 AM

Well, what do you expect for that price?

kahoon 09-13-09 06:00 AM

http://www.AlienBikes.com/ probably the least expensive lugged frame on the market @ $449

is that a trick question? i expect something less hideous.

rogwilco 09-13-09 11:38 AM

Then maybe you should reach a little farther into your wallet.

jtgotsjets 09-13-09 02:05 PM

Or, uh, not buy the hideous bike? I'm not sure what you're getting at here. There are a lot of bikes at similar price points that don't have giant hideous welds.

The welds on my IRO Mark V are very nice, as is the rest of the frame. Can't go wrong with IRO.
