creaking Brooks saddle b-17
OK. I have been putzing with my Brooks for some time now, and it still creaks. I greased it and lubed it and it still creaks. It seem to creak mainly with my Sakae seatpost as opposed to my Bianchi. However, I like the Sakae seatpost. Anybody have a similar experience? If so, how'd you cure this creaky old man seat?

I don't remember if I heard it hear or on a list-serve but some folks who have creaking Brooks have figured out that lubing the tension bolt helps. I personally have no experiance with this but I hope it helps.

I'd say drink more beer...but that is just my mechanical side.

My sprung Conquest creaks and lubricating its rails and spring parts help quiet it down quiet a bit. All my other Brooks saddles are quiet.

I tried tightening it all the way and that seemed to work temporarily. I'll keep you posted. |

I have started a new thread with the pros. Let's see what they say:
