Portland LBS ?

My friend and I are coming down to Portland this weekend. We're bringing our fixed gears, and plan to meetup with my friends down there that all happen to be roadies, and cruise around the city. We're also bringing our downhill/freeride bikes to do some riding over in Hood.

Anyways, wanted to know your recommendations on any great LBS's in Portland that we can check out while we're in town, specifically ones that cater to fixed gears. If you know of any that cater to downhill/freeride/dirtjump/slopestyle bikes, I'd love to hear about those too. Thanks in advance for your suggestions. :)

There is a place called "The Recyclery" in Portland. It's a large joint that pretty much specialized in selling used road bikes and parts. Pretty cool joint to at least check out.

Yeah, we're crashing at my buddy's place in Portland, so only looking for shops in/around the city. Looks like there are 4 Recyclery locations. Which one/s tend to have the best used parts bins?

I browsed the shop listings on bikeportland.org and a thread on pdxfixed and from what little I could find, found a few that seem promising. How are these shops?

For FG's:
Revolver Bikes
Meticon
Bike Central
Veloshop

Other:
Goods BMX
Fat Tire Farm
Universal Cycles (bought lots of stuff from them online)

You could check out A Better Cycle, over on SE Division.

I have heard good things about them, but have never visited.

I had good experience with the Recyclery on 11th and Yamhill, but, when I went in last time, they had two new dudes with accents. I do not know if Chris and Chris still worked there, since I mostly dealt with them, and they were super nice.

I went to the 9th and Madison location, but was meh. I had a friend who went there, and she had a bad experience with extremely overpriced parts, but it was kind of her fault for not knowing ahead of time.

I have never been to the other two locations.

You could also check out the Community Cycling Center on NE Alberta. They were pretty nice in there, seemed to have a ton of used parts bins all over the place. I only went in because I had a flat tire the night before riding back to a friend's place, but it was right after every store closed, and I did not have a spare tube on me.

The Community Cycling Center on 17th & Alberta is a great shop. I've always had good service there.
