$19? That is it?
In Oregon, we pay $50 to the Sheriff's Dept, then pay another $15 to OSP for the background check. For renewal, it is another $50 every four years to the Sheriff's Dept. |
you know now that I think of it I did hear that the price went up by $5.00, so that makes it a grand total of $24.00! :p Yup, thats it. :) in Philadelphia that is. :D

back on track. I just went on a trip to the grocery store, and had a small confrontation. I like to take scenic route home, firstly to make my ride longer, and I also like to ride hills. Well I was at a stop light and for what ever reason old people walk across the street when ever they feel like it. So I was waiting and being respectful even though the light was green. As I was doing my ******** version of a track stand a taxi starts honking at me. So I flip him off, because he was in the wrong lane and he was being an ass. Then he takes off up my ass like he is going to pass me so I start taking up the whole lane. He goes into the next lane and starts yelling at me and acting like he is going to run me off the road. I tell him go ahead and hit me I can always use a new bike. I tell him to **** off while he continues to yell and me and flip me off, and continue riding. Worst part was he stoped behind me to pick some one up or something and I had to ride the rest of the hill watching my back.
About the navy- I have always wanted to join some sort of armed forces since I can remember and just never did anything about it. I got into college, and my focus cooled down a bit. Over the last year I have really been wanting to join up, but I know my parents would be much happier if I finish college first. I am sure I will be down the road too. I am going to wait till the summer before my final year(this coming summer) to talk to a recruiter and get serious. I have talked to a recruiter before but they are really just salesmen and I find doing research on the internet, and watching documentaries of different aspects of the military a lot more helpful. Sorry for the wall of text/****ty typing I did this kinda fast |

Sorry for the wall of text/****ty typing I did this kinda fast I am also thinking of joining the services. I will be graduating college in May, and I was originally thinking Navy, but now I'm thinking coast guard. I don't wanna be deployed to war, and I think some Navy peeps are sent to Iraq (afaik). My thought process is this: what would I rather do for the next few years of my life, sit at a desk as a paper pusher, or be an officer in the coast guard flying helicopters, conducting search and rescue missions, intercepting drug dealers, etc. Hmm...the latter sounds much more fun ;) BTW, Ilikebikes, if I was in your situation I probably would have pulled my gun, too. I just think gun laws are kinda tricky so I've always been curious as to when it's okay to pull it out and when it's not. The law in Texas is very pro-gun. I think if someone is on your property, you have the right to shoot them. I know when I was younger I toilet papered a classmates house, and his dad caught me and was like "I could have legally shot you for that." Needless to say, my days of TPing houses were over Update: I think I'm gonna tell my friend's parents what's going on w/ him b/c he is a financially dependent college kid, so hopefully they can either send him to rehab or just cut him off, ending his money supply. |
Hey Pedatx my little brother goes to St. Eds,
What year are you? His name is Jack. He's got super curly hair, he's a sophomore. Maybe you know him? He's tall as **** and destroys the bass. He rides a grey Bianchi SISS with a pink fork. |

Yeah, cab drivers can be a pain in the ass. I think I'm just gonna start ignoring anyone who gives me crap on the road and do my own thing. Nothing good ever comes from confrontation. If I honestly think someone is trying to endanger my life, though, I might take down their plate # and report them if it is serious enough (like trying to run me off the road)

I was talking to an ex-Marine, and he was telling me about this, since my friends are worried I will be shipped overseas. He said being a Corpsman is about as close to the Marines as you can be without actually being in the Marines. Also, I thought about joining the Coast Guard, but never did. When I lived in Astoria, I met a lot of guys from the CG at the hospital I worked at, when they would come in for physical therapy.

What a small world. Anyway, he's 19, has a Jeep Grand Cherokee, from Dallas. Hangs out with Sam and a guy named Justin who goes to UT.

I did, I honestly felt my life was being threatened, so I defended myself by drawing my gun, and I would have most def without a doubt fired a few rounds at them if they would not have turned tail. Not that I don't have a respect for life, just that I'd prefer to take theirs than let them take mine. :thumb: not only that but you really think I'm going to sit there and recite laws in my head while someone else is about to beat it in?!
EDIT: Forgot to mention, I carry a full sized Glock 21....comfortably. Also, I'm pretty sure if you pulled your piece in a situation like that where I live it'd be considered brandishing a firearm- which is generally frowned upon by the boys in blue. |
I seriously doubt a 4 on 1 confrontation would get the guy being targeted a ticket for brandishing a fire arm.

I don't see how being pro-gun makes you a republican or crazy. It's a right.
And dont forget, His other prized possession is wearing tight-black underwear, and pointing a gun at his genitals. Haha. |
