Interbike 2009 - lots and lots of fixed gear - picture heavy post

I got back from Interbike a few days ago and it was hard not to take a step and run into another manufacturers single speed offerings (both bikes and aftermarket parts like wheels). Many of the fixies (especially the Italian offerings) were also retro styled.

Here are some pictures:

Colnago

Cinelli-Cino Cinelli is probably rolling over in his grave over this gaudy offering

Boo Bikes (as in bamboo). Bamboo and carbon fiber frame with belt drive drivetrain, wooden rims. I think the frame was $3000 (but not sure)

Pinarello fixed gear

Torelli Tipo Uno-leather seat, chrome top tube cable housing clamps, toe clips and leather straps. For my tastes it looks like this model is trying a little too hard to be retro

I think retro works better on the Bianchi-maybe because Bianchi has such a long history

A modern interpretation from Speedhound

Wheels and accessories-looks like a revival of the mid 1980s BMX color-crazy trend

FWIW i have the Tippo Uno saddle on my Kilo, and i love it. Not a comment on the whole bike, but the equipment is solid for sure.

I actually really like this. It'd be awesome with a few little tweaks.

That roulette wheel themed rim is a bit too garish for my personal taste, but very clever nonetheless . . .

I love that Cinelli frame, but the way it is built up there is awful.

Also, the Pinarello is pretty sexy.

Thanks for posting this.

I actually just ordered a set of bibs from you that've turned out to have been a great, thrifty, investment. Thanks for that, too.

Roll to a stop, check which number is under the fork blade, that's how many hipsters you must wave to.
