Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Wrong wrong wrong

Everyone has it wrong here, the d...bags are people driving the big SUV, minivans and other monstrosities that humanity has created. The other day I was riding along happily, the cars are a nuisance but they keep to their space, then a big fat ass SUV with..... 1 human in it pulls up in front and farts away, I was stuck for a good 30 minutes. Would much rather have had some bad attitude courier ahead of me

Anyone on a bike has my vote bad attitude or not

As for fixies and elites, I am new to this, but it seems comparable to the ski hills, some folks buy the latest and greatest and like to show off, others just want to have fun, live and let live..... just DON'T DRIVE!!!!!!!!

cheers

You're being a HUGE D-bag 'ober'. You need to contribute to the senseless post, like I am.

Actually, your post makes the most sense, bravo. (I'm not being sarcastic) I too would rather have a D bag on a bike, then piloting 2+ tons of rolling sheet metal.

Yes, ever since becoming a FG rider I can feel the *****bag coming out of me even more than before... I was already 1/2 way there but the feel of a FG bike sent me over the *****bag level, according to my *****bag richter scale.

FG Elitists? How about road riders with $5000 bikes that won't say hi when you pass them. These are the people driving the big fat ass SUVs around town.

I feel like at the very least FG riders are doing it for a cause, whether it be a healthy lifestyle or environmental awareness, etc.

I was over-hauling the hub for my front wheel. I dropped a bearing, my dog strolled up to it, sniffed it, ate it, then walked away.
