I've been reading a lot on the forums and I think that's the bike I'm gonna choose for sure.

Thanks!

With all the reading you done, I think you missed a few threads.

Love how people come in here pretending they've been reading these forums and ask the most often asked question out there.

lol okay, except theres really no need to pretend. i had done research before posting my original post. I appreciate you linking the threads for me, but honestly, stop with the attitude. no one needs it. not you, not me, not the ppl reading the forums. So next time, just try to help someone out instead of talk them down.
Thanks.

just ignore them OP. glad you're closing in on owning a fixed gear ;D

thanks muckymucky.
so since im using this to commute to and from my college classes, what kind of lock do you think would work best?
Ive been reading that the kryptonite evolution 4 u-locks are pretty good but also add a lot of weight.
I'll only be in class for a little over an hour, and it'll be during the day on a bike rack close to each building.
should i go with the hefty u-locks or a tough cable? or both?
suggestions please?

If I were you I wouldn't take out any more student loans. Reading and comprehension you can learn at home. Take a few steps back partner.

internet101 - if you type in googles search box something like -

site:bikeforums.net lock best

- and you'll get over 7000 posts discussing your same question about locks. At least you didn't start a whole new thread.

my Windsor Hour and a front brake only set me back like $320, granted I have done a few changes to the setup but the components are all stock still and holding up nicely.

take your bike into class.

doode i blatantly take my bike into EVERY single one of my classrooms, set it on the side, lecture starts, dont really give a %$meow.
no professor is gonna complain.
but i do still carry around a bulldog mini-U for when i go to the quickie-mart. front wheel + frame + rail when locking.

pa1ntbru5h 10-03-09 05:39 PM

thanks again muckymucky. I think i'll take it into a few of my classes, but some of them are small classrooms and up a floor or something.
but otherwise i think i should be okay locking it to the bikeracks. the racks are directly outside of the lecture halls.

I think you meant to post in here http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=305822 This thread is reserved for paintbrush and all his questions regarding being a new bike owner. I'm betting gear inches will be the next question, and then something regarding skids. Either how to do them, or what tires hold up the best.

Please refrain from posting pictures in paintbrush's thread. <-- possessive apostrophe.
