So I saw the pics of the Fuji Feather and the Bianchi Pista via Condotti from Interbike and i like them both. Fuji updated their site w/ specs and such... msrp is $650 http://www.fujibikes.com/Fuji/files/...872d98fa82.pdf This will be my first fixed gear and decent bike in a while. right now i'm riding on an old converted fuji (dont know what frame) and it keeps breaking and stuff... i bought it off craigslist and it wasn't put together very well and the paint is all messed up from me removing the super lame stickers the person before me had on it and it doesnt have the greatest components on it and i have little/no bike building knowledge or time... work freaking 12hrs a day... so, with the price and components on both bikes, which bike is better for the price? http://http://www.bianchiusa.com/10-...-condotti.html

My other option, which i planned on doing tomorrow, was going to a fixed shop like 45mins away (headin that way anyway) and lookin at what they have (www.66fixedgear.com).

I just bought a new Bianchi Pista for 500 (end of the season sale.) If you can not find a local dealer call around and have them ship it to you. I almost bought a specialized langster for 500 because of the carbon fork thing but realized "WTF do I need that for?" pluss I didn't like the look of the specialized.

I say go Bianchi!

You need about 8 hours of sleep, so that leaves you with 4 hours a day of learning how to wrench!

12 hour shifts here! pluss 2 kids, wife, 5 bikes and night school one night a week.
8 hours a night of sleep? right...

well for now, i'd like to start with a decent bike then later on when things start going bad i will replace them... i just dont feel like messing /w the bike i have now... so, i will learn how to wrench but hopefully just when the parts start going back.

edit: Max i think i could pull like 1.5 hrs a night to build it, but i dont even know if i have the proper tools. for now, for times sake, i'd rather buy and upgrade down the future than start from scratch. though, frame, fork, bars, and wheels (not hubs; i dont think) are decent. 80s fuji frame, matching blue mavic cxp 22 or 23s (dont recall and not at home to check), 90s cuda hubs, and an old shimano crank... would it be worth my time to strip it and repaint it and get some new hubs and crank (mine is slightly bent the guy at the LBS told me). one problem is is that i dont want to repaint it the same blue, and the wheels... so.... that's why i was looking towards buying and upgrading in the future.
