FAVOR bikes?

I just came across this site which sells favor track bikes.I was wondering, anyone have tried these before?are they good?because basically these are reasonably priced.

tall&lanky 10-06-09 09:07 PM

components on those look pretty terrible. also be wary of airwalk, they infamously made milwaukee bruiser knock-offs using the geo sheet milwaukee posted online.

frames look awesome!!! triple triangle, bent seat tube... If they ride as nice as they look i'd be into getting one. it says they're heat treated chromo, and it looks like one of the decals said it was double butted. anybody wanna get one first???

ADSR 10-06-09 09:17 PM

Damn, I wish they came in white and didn't cost so much that I might as well just get a Soma Rush.

syahirax 10-06-09 09:29 PM

ive just mailed the guy who runs the site and he said that the favor frame is 4130 chromoly but for 599 with shipping,i would say this is a good deal for me.(because i live in malaysia,se asia).Getting a surly or soma rush would be too expensive

arcade 10-06-09 09:33 PM

curved seat tube and triple triangle always steal my heart... if i was in the market for a cheap frameset, i would definitely be taking this into consideration...

as far as the components... well the fact that they only tack on $170 would lead me to believe they aren't top notch, quality-wise.... duh.

adriano 10-06-09 09:40 PM

that frame makes me smile.

pedalpedalpedal 10-06-09 09:41 PM

They're kinda cool, but for $429 for the frameset/$599 complete, I would rather get an IRO. What's the geo on this?

Triple8Sol 10-06-09 11:37 PM

Damn, I'm loving the look of that frameset, even without lugs and lugged fork. Wish the price was a little lower though. $429 for a 4130 cro-mo (if accurate) made in Taiwan frameset seems a tad high?

gelpicorp 10-07-09 09:06 AM

tee hee hee ... i see wc stripes ... raise your hand if you shat a brick yet!! lol!!

it baffles me how they do those curvy frames. they look so amazing.

edit: hay, look at these lugged frames: http://airwalkfixed.blogspot.com/200...fixedgear.html.

curious

pedalpedalpedal 10-08-09 01:51 PM

I emailed the contact on the website (directorchan or whatever), and he said that they "dun have" a geometry chart (I'm quoting from my email) for the FAVOR bikes.

syahirax 10-08-09 07:33 PM

yup, thats what he said to me too.sheesh

Fixed gear gives the rider a more fun for the bike, especially when riding in rainy conditions, and exercises your legs more than geared cycles. Riding fixed gear gives you a better connection with bike so you get more control making it. The fixed gear bikes have flip-flop rear hubs meaning that you can switch back to single speed riding when you need to, and with front and rear 2 finger type brakes it is designed to be safely ride-able in the cities.

The best thing about these are that they've got no gears, making it so simple to use. Even many movie star are love it: Designer of Street Fashion also love it.

And all you specialist riders who want to put a fixed cog on it, it's simple.

By the way they are UNISEX so anyone can ride them.

ps: i wouldnt touch the complete build, but the favor frameset does look pretty damn sexy, wish it were being marketed by basically anyone other that this company.

pedalpedalpedal 10-09-09 10:39 AM

I wish someone would buy one and measure the thing for us, since the seller is obviously not very competent

i think it's pretty obvious that's what's happened here too, they've got inside access to a manufacturing facility and are making extra production runs of another company's design. wonder who's frame this actually is?

i found this filckr stream, the bike has some really unique gracenotes, anyone wanna take a stab at identifying it?

nice de rosa. oh wait, it's just more stealing.

wtf is that calorie spun sticker anyways? is it a method for making the bike, or some band i've never heard of...

adriano 10-11-09 06:43 PM
