All city track frame, crazy price.

All-City Big Block 49cm Track Frame Black/White. Its on sale for $42.00+sh on amazon.com (Elite Cycle). MSRP is $499.00 and shipping is about $13.00. Seems to be a legitimate sale, but the price has got me thinking, "why so cheap?" Ridiculous price and I'm thinking of buying it just because its practically a steal. Any insight or thoughts on this frame anyone?

I'm sure its a mistake, and they'd just wind up saying "sorry, we messed up. Here's your money back" but the 1% that they honor the online price might be worth the aggravation.

this was my thinking as well. As a result, order placed, fingers crossed.

btw, I am assuming it's actually less than a 1% chance, but hey, you never know

Sounds too good to be true but then again it's a 49. Maybe Hervé Villechaize ordered before his death and they can't find another little person to pick it up.

I just bought a complete 52cm for $45. That seems totally impossible. Makes my new Kilo Stripper seem overpriced. Hell, it makes my $8 dinner at my neighborhood Thai restaurant seem overpriced for that matter. We'll see.

Anyone know anything about these bikes? For $45 if it lasts a month, I'd be happy.

I just checked it out and it seems like a really nice bike. The dropouts are especially nice as the have some minneapolis flavor in them. That being said, from what I can see it's no deal. MSRP for the frameset is $499 for a double butted 4130 frame and fork. For almost 150 under that I could buy the mark v pro with 631. For just a little more than that I could go for a soma rush, also with better tubing.

I've seen stuff like this happen before though and it won't fly. As soon as it got posted here and people started ordering 2 at a time (or three or four), the flags will go up and we will all get the dreaded email.

On the tiny tiny TINY off chance that this might have the ossibility of slipping by unnoticed, please don't buy more than 1. I'm just hoping that this might not get noticed before it's too late(for them that is)

I'm into the saltwater aquaria, and on Petsmart.com, they had some mighty might RO/DI filters for $0.01 by typo, when it costs over $100+ retail, and the first like 50 units actually shipped out, then they caught on and cancelled the rest, this one guy got 25 of them for 25 cents, plus like $14 shipping

in that case, maybe i should delete this thread and hope my order is one of the first in, though that would be very unlikely.
