My theory is that fixed wheels used to be primarily used by cyclists. Once that started changing, all sorts of rational thought went out the window.

you must work to learn to spin. most just ride a higher gear and mash because it is the easiest way to get power down. the best learn to spin and have the strength to do so at a high gear.

68:11 gearing (162 GI) and seat-less to boot.
