Fixed gear drive train. LOUD!!!
 

Yeah Im a roadie, however I bought an indoor spinning bike with a fixed gear drivetrain, for winter training. The damn thing is loud, I purchased a Dura Ace track cog, in hope of making it quieter havent recieved it yet. However everyone is telling me it probably is just my tension on the bikes chain, and something about the alignment. The noise that is coming off the gear right now is comparable to the noise you would get if you tryed to make a machine gun sound with your mouth. IDK what to do Im about to sell it because I cant even watch tv with how loud it is.

Any tips would be helpful.

Whoever mentioned the chain tension or chainline is probably right.

What is the width of the chainring and cog vs the chain?

Chainline. Is it straight? Measure that ****. Straight is quiet, off is less so. Unless it's really off, it's probably fine regardless, but it's probably going to be a bit louder if it's less straight.

If it's THAT loud the chainline is probably pretty off...

Keep in mind that most drivetrains are going to take a while to get to know each other and wear in.

^^^This. And using a thick "wet" chain lube seems to help keep things quiet.

It all appears to be 3/32. And how do you measure if your chain is straight?
